YOGA CLASSES OFFERED
AT WELLINGTON COMMUNITY CENTER
The
Village of Wellington Leisure Services Department is
offering Yoga classes at the Community Center, 12165
Forest Hill Boulevard. Yoga is a unique way to
integrate body, mind and spirit by opening the
wisdom of your body and practicing compassionate
self-awareness. It also unifies all the different
aspects of our being: body, mind and spirit
(breath); yoga brings us in contact with the deep
inner peace that is our true nature.
Gentle Yoga for Gentle You-Yoga Basics, gives
special attention to the details of Yoga posture:
body alignment, mental attitude and movement of
breath throughout the body-mind. Emphasis is on the
awareness of body mechanics; building strength and
balance in all body postures, as well as stress
management techniques: releasing tension in the
body, mind and breath.
Gentle Yoga-Level 1, can be taken separately or in
conjunction with Yoga Basics. A bit more challenging
than Yoga Basics, Level 1 is still a gentle way to
stretch and strengthen your body and mind. Building
on the experience of Yoga Basics, this class will
explore longer holding times in posture, with
emphasis on awareness of mental, emotional, and
energetic “shifts” in the body/mind and breath.
Yoga
Basics begins Tuesday, May 16, with Level 1 starting
Thursday, May 18. Both classes meet once a week,
10:45-11:45am for six weeks. Cost per session is $15
for residents and $25 for non-residents. The
instructor, Rita S. Micelle (Satyr) is a
professional level certified instructor of Kraal
Yoga, and is certified as a Yoga Therapist, with the
school of Integrative Yoga Therapy.
Mayor
Tom Wenham, Vice-Mayor Bob Margolis along with
Council Members Lizbeth Benacquisto, Laurie Cohen
and Dr. Carmine Prior, are pleased to bring exciting
and innovative programs to the Village, always
looking for ways to improve services for all its
residents. For more information
on
both classes please contact Richard Klinger at
