VILLAGE OF WELLINGTON
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
A
PUBLIC HEARING will be held on the following proposed
ordinances at or about 7:00 P.M. on February 12, 2008, in
the Council Chamber at the Wellington Community Center,
12165 West Forest Hill Boulevard, Wellington, Florida, at
which time the Village Council will consider its adoption
into law. The ordinances in their entirety may be inspected
at the office of the Village Clerk during regular working
hours. All interested parties are invited to attend and be
heard with respect to the proposed ordinances.
ORDINANCE NO.: 2008 - 02
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF WELLINGTON, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE VILLAGE CODE OF
ORDINANCES BY CREATING AN ENTIRELY NEW CHAPTER 27, TO BE
ENTITLED “REMOTE ACCESS TO GATED COMMUNITIES”; TO PROVIDE
ACCESS TO SUCH COMMUNITIES BY FIRE, FIRE/RESCUE, POLICE AND
OTHER EMERGENCY SERVICE PROVIDERS; PROVIDING A CONFLICTS
CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; A REPEALER CLAUSE; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
WELLINGTON, FLORIDA, RELATING TO LICENSING AND REGULATION OF
RESIDENTIAL RENTAL UNITS; AMENDING THE CODE ORDINANCES OF
THE VILLAGE OF WELLINGTON, FLORIDA BY RE-ENACTING CHAPTER 71
“RENTAL DWELLING UNIT LICENSES,” TO PROVIDE FOR THE
MANDATORY LICENSING AND INSPECTION OF RESIDENTIAL UNITS HELD
OUT FOR LEASE OR RENT AND PROVIDING RULES AND REGULATIONS
PERTAINING TO SUCH LICENSES AND INSPECTIONS; AND PROVIDING
PENALITIES FOR NONCOMPLIANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE
CHAPTER; PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS
CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
NOTICE
If a person decides to appeal any decision
made by the Village Council with respect to any matter
considered at this meeting, you will need a record of the
proceedings, and you may need to ensure that a verbatim
record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the
testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be
based. (The above notice is required by State Law. Anyone
desiring a verbatim transcript shall have the
responsibility, at his own cost, to arrange for the
transcript).
Pursuant to the provision of the Americans
With Disabilities Act: any person requiring special
accommodations to participate in these meetings, because of
a disability or physical impairment, should contact the
Village Manager’s Office (561) 791-4000 at least five
calendar days prior to the Hearing.
